What does digital mean?
|
The term comes from the English digit, that derives from the Latin digitus that means finger Digital means the conversion from real words into numbers, or rather into binary forms. Computers based on the binary are machines which can only read 0 and 1 and therefore it is the only possibility to store and transport data to digitalize them.
Digital information are limited (0 and 1) and thus it is possible to create packages and send them between a sender and storage ( a browser and a server, a player and a CD, etc.) Analog information are unlimited (a cry of a baby) and even more precise, but in contrast to digital data, they can't be packed, edit and stored without loosing quality. |
