Learners corner

Presenting the courses to some external people we realized it was confusing for them that we have two places where they can find courses: under courses and learners corner. We discussed that and would like to suggest to use learners corner only for the learner interviews and publish all the courses under courses. What do you think about? If you agree, we will change learners corner in a storage for the interviews.

Romanian courses

Dear all,

We have uploaded one of our courses online. It's the course that Valeria Kis had prepared for all of us. She worked really hard today in order to upload her course on the website. You can see for the moment the Romanian version of the course - "Learners corner" - a course with a lot of history and traditions, all included in a very personal "How to" lesson.

Lots of hugs,

Tina

Course translations

Just to remind you: when you are going to translate the courses, you have to click on translate in the course menu. There, choose the language into which you want to translate the course. Do NOT create a new course for translate an already existing one. For any questions please contact me or Isabell or Hagen.

How to courses with Lili

Dear all,

Lili and I worked hard yesterday at her "How to course". We spent our time among knitting needles and wool. Lili finalised her course in Romanian and started (with the help of her new acquired English knowledge and Google translate) to work on the English version.

We also made a small video with her working on the course. As soon as we have the subtitle we will post it on the website.

Lots of hugs,

Tina

How2course

Now off to buy some yarn for tonigths how 2 course so we can start to make crochet blankets, just the way my grandmother did it

Finished the sewing course

We finished the course How to sew a skirt? this week. That means I have translated the course into English and French (as it was done in German).

It is not an easy thing to do to translate rarely used technical and specific terms into a foreign language. I am sure you know that, when preparing and writing your courses.

Please have a look at whatever version suits you best and review the course, so that I/we know if things need to be described differently.

As was decided in the last project meeting, I have published the additional interview conducted at the end of the course realisation in the learners corner.

While doing the course and translating it, I started sewing myself, and have big projects (for a beginner) ahead of me. Smiling

I started with a simple table cloth, will continue to do another one, a simple top in silk (not easy to sew!) and the final big project is sewing a beautiful blue skirt.

Now I will continue working on the French version of the upholstery course, that we did a week ago.

The french how-to course

Last weekend, we developed the how-to course "Upholstering a chair" with a part of our French group.

Catherine opened a little workshop in her house were Eric, le tapissier and all others came together for creating the course. Previously, we agreed on the main structure of the course and Catherine and Nicolas got a short chrashcourse for typing the essential content online. Isabell was filming everything and I did pictures from nearly every step. All were very exited of doing something like that together. It was very intensive, I learned a lot of new French terms and we finished the first part of the course yesterday evening, tired but happy!

In next weeks we have to go through the content, sort out the best pictures (I did about 500 pics), cut the videos (Isabell did 2 hours in total), put all together and edit the text.

Inspired of our busy weekend, Henry will do a short course about how-to make nougat. That we'll do in two weeks Eye-wink
