Turn the chair on the back.
Strapping of the Back Rest
Take the cotton strapping and stretch the straps over the back rest (chair turned towards yourself) in the axis of the back rest, which you previously measured and marked. Stretch the strapping with a webbing stretcher or a wooden board.
Staple the straps in a straight, then in a diagonal manner, as was done for the seat.
Afterwards, place one strap perpendicularly to the first one on top of the back rest, then one at the lower end.
Place the Thick Muslin
Tack the fabric and cut it by leaving 1cm on the sides. Staple the muslin flat on the back to avoid a thickness.
Place the Foam on the Back Rest
Make a pattern of the back rest or put the foam directly on to the back rest and draw the outline of the back with a pencil (or pen).
Cut the foam of 25kg density and 3cm thickness, and apply glue to the centre of the muslin and foam. Stick the two pieces together; once the glue is dry.
It is preferred to staple the foam along the outline of the back rest to minimize the thickness of the foam.
