When you buy a digital camera you'll always have a memory card that will store all your pictures. The memory card must be inserted in a housing located on the bottom of your device. When you want, you can upload these photos which are stored in memory, in your computer.Once pictures are saved in your computer you can print, modify or see them. Many compact digital still cameras can record sound and moving video as well as still images. Digital cameras can display images on a screen immediately after they are recorded, store lots of of images on a single small memory device, recording video with sound. Additional to that, you can deleting images you don't want anymore.
Fundamentally they operate in the same manner as film cameras, typically using a lens with a variable diaphragm to focus light onto an image pickup device. There exists many different models of digital cameras, but what we described in the following chapters are the principal functions which are the same on every digital camera.
