Connect your voice recorder to your computer using the USB or other computer link connection. Install any necessary software that came with your voice recorder. Transfer your test file to your computer saving it in a folder. Play it back on your computer to be sure it works.

It is also possible to record the voice, and save it, directly using your computer. Go to All Programs and follow the link to Accessories. Select Entertainment and choose Sound Recorder. Click on the turquoise round button to start your recording, and to stop, press the black square stop button. You can then choose to save the file, or "save as", edit the file or apply some simple effects.

If you are using Windows Vista go into the Start menu. Go to All Programs and follow the link to Accessories. Select Sound Recorder. To start click Start Recording, and to stop, click the Stop Recording.
