Finishing the Seat

Staple the Fabric

Staple the fabric beneath the seat by starting in the centre and continue towards the ends. Use staples of 8mm if the wood is used, if not 6mm. Stretch the fabric by "caressing" it without making waves. The run of thread has to remain straight.

Staple the Corners

To staple the pleat on the corner, place one staple in the centre. Tack the pleat with decorative tacks by starting at the bottom, then go up.

Place the Bottoming Cloth for the Finish

Reuse the pattern of the foam for the seat to cut the bottoming cloth. Place the bottoming cloth below the seat at the axes in length and width and cut angles of 45° in the corners.

Pleat the bottoming cloth to hide the staples. Don't pull too much and staple every 5cm, always starting at the axis towards the extremities.
