Cutting and Placing the Second Foam of the Seat

2nd pattern

Make a second pattern for the foam of 8cm. You trace a line along the outside of the seat. When cutting the pattern, add an additional 2 cm. The additional 2 cm are for the foam to be glued to the external chip foam. Remember cuts of 45° for the corners.

Cut the foam of 8cm

Cut the foam according to the pattern and chamfer the foam to 7cm along the edges.

It is recommended to trace the chamfered edge with a pencil to not make a mistake. Put the edge of the foam again the edge of the table, which will serve as a guide when cutting and cut the foam along the pencil trace.

Glue the foam of 8cm

When glueing the foam, it is sufficient to apply the glue along the chamgered edge and a little in the centre of the foam. Glue the chip foam on the outside and then glue the foam on the chip foam.

It is best to start at the back of the seat to well-position the foam. Apply pressure on the foam so that it sticks to the chip foam.

Continue with glueing the foam at the front of the seat and then all around while applying pressure. When finished, cut the edges that surpass.
