About

This project was funded by the EU in the framework of Life Long Learning Program and carried out between December 2008 and November 2010 by a consortium of six European institutions: Finlands Svenska Martha Förbund (coordinator), Bangor University Wales, cocoate.com (France), CVC (Slovakia), ApoWeR (Romania) and Cramars (Italy).

Despite of their very different backgrounds, all unite their engagement for developing new approaches in adult education.

The main aim of our activities is to use the traditional knowledge and practice of the older participants as ‘hooks’ to capture their interest in learning, building skills and competencies along the way so that they can produce their own learning courses (how-to-courses) by using ICT as tools for recording and sharing the content.

The course topics emerged from the participants' skills themselves and covers areas such as healthy living and well-being, handcrafts, entrepreneurship, life management, environmental activities a.o. The participants themselves built the content of these how-to-courses and learned, at the same time, necessary skills for, among others, structuring content, publishing content online and dealing with digital technology. Therefore, partner institutions created ICT courses which cover these needs.
During an international learning week participants presented their courses and talked about their learning experiences. All participants expressed great enthusiasm and experienced an exceptional journey.

We hope you have fun in exploring the how-to courses and are inspired to create your own!
Just contact us and we will help you to start.
